Dear *|FNAME|*
This is it! Polls have just opened in the 2017 Cambridge City Council election. Polls will stay open until 8:00pm, and this election may be decided by as few as 6 votes. Over the past year, hundreds of members of our community have leant their support, and we have identified thousands who support our campaign. Now we have 13 hours to turn that support into a victory!
If I am elected, I will make sure the Net Zero Action Plan is fully implemented, so that we can lead the way and take action on climate change through our building stock, which represent 80% of our emissions in Cambridge. I will also work with my colleagues to protect our fragile tree canopy, and make sure that the findings of the climate vulnerability study are fully incorporated into the city’s new master plan. I will advocate for municipal broadband, publicly financed elections, and completion of the protected bike lane network. When it comes to housing development, I will negotiate to protect the interests of our community, not the profits of developers. And I will do all of this without ever taking a dime from special interests who have business before the council. Period.
